Javia's story
Kaje and I have been married for five years this year, but our story together goes much further back—to 2016, when we first started traveling together. Each city, each sip, and each shared experience lit the spark for what would eventually become Pour Decisions STL and The Passport.
In 2019, that inspiration turned into something tangible. I began my deep dive into the world of wine, eventually becoming a sommelier, while also specializing in gin and tequila. Kaje, always the bourbon and tequila guy, brought a complementary palate to the mix. As our skills grew, so did our vision.
My background in Business Intelligence and Information Systems—combined with years as a data analyst and asset manager—gave me the operational and strategic edge to turn ideas into scalable businesses. I earned my MBA in 2021 while simultaneously building CRMs and infrastructure for our first venture, Pour Decisions STL. At the same time, Kaje earned his Master’s in Clinical Counseling and Therapy, which brought an incredible level of emotional intelligence and hospitality to how we engage with our guests.
As new parents and frequent travelers, we know firsthand the value of spaces where people can feel seen, celebrated, and connected. That’s why we built Pour Decisions STL and The Passport, which was named Business of the Year in 2024—not just as a cocktail and wine bar, but as a cultural hub and creative third space for the St. Louis community. And now, as we prepare for our next chapter on Delmar, we’re excited to bring an even deeper, more intentional version of that vision to life.
