And Deffar 1 Group's story
Khady is the president of the group "And Deffar 1" in the native language which means Solidarity in French.
This loan is destined for all of the members of the group; there are eight of them with Aminata being absent. The group's activity is the sale of cosmetic products, fabric, fruits and vegetables at the market situated at the Notto crossroads.
Khady is the client wearing the pink scarf. She is 43, married and a mother of three children aged between 4 and 12. They are all in school.
She has been engaged in this activity for over ten years and buys her fabric and dresses in Thiès in Dakar and sells them at the Notto market.
She has a large market share and this is why she is requesting an increase in her fourth loan cycle to increase her capital so as to have some financial independence for the well-being of her family.
The difficulties she faces are: an increase in the price of merchandise and the late payments from customers.
The loan from VisionFund will enable her to buy more stock and to increase her customer base, and to pay the school fees for her children.
In this group: Khady, Awa, Aminata, Astou, Maty, Mada, Anta, Fatou
