Welcoming our new class of interns and fellows

July 25, 2019

Last week, we welcomed our newest class of interns, international fellows and Atlas Corps fellows at Kiva’s headquarters. They participated in five intense days filled with trainings, workshops, fun and delicious food. All of our trainees were selected from an impressive pool of applicants from around the world.

This training week differed from the traditional ways of past training weeks. For the first time, Kiva combined what would usually be held as separate trainings for our interns and fellows. We are excited to introduce the 24th class of Kiva interns, 37th class of international fellows and our inaugural class of Atlas Corps fellows!

Throughout the week, Kiva staff held educational sessions for our trainees informing them on the ins and outs of our organization. A huge shoutout to all of our participants for being full of energy during these informative sessions. We made sure to throw in some fun activities for our hardworking trainees. Trainees had time to explore the beautiful city of San Francisco and participated in some long-standing Kiva traditions.

Whether they are staying with us in the office or heading out to visit borrowers and to work with field partners in countries such as Kenya, Honduras and Vietnam, we are positive that this class of interns and fellows are prepared to represent Kiva with confidence and grace.

We thank you for your enthusiasm and participation throughout the week and wish you all the best!
