Katie was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest with a stint in Lombok, Indonesia that instilled in her a strong appreciation of international development programs (and warm weather). Katie attended Stanford University and loved studying everything from art history in Florence, Italy to polio vaccine in the lab. Her studies focused on global public health and infectious tropical diseases, and she hopes to pursue a master's degree in global health in the near future. She joins Kiva after a summer working with iDE Cambodia on a sustainable rural sanitation program. She is coming on board as a Community Support intern where she is excited to become an expert on Kiva's programs and enhance lenders' experience with the organization. In her free time she enjoys exploring the city, drinking coffee, watching terrible action movies and learning about scary parasites.
