Global Agents for Change roll into San Francisco!
June 27, 2008By: Fiona Ramsey
If you live near the highways between Vancouver and San Francisco and have seen a pack of 30 bicyclists in green heading south, chances are they were Global Agents for Change.
Global Agents for Change are a group of young professionals, university students and social change agents from Vancouver, Canada, whose goal is no less than to change the world!
Each year Global Agents for Change ride from Vancouver to Mexico, raising funds to build a youth managed microcredit fund, which is loaned to developing world entrepreneurs through Kiva. To date they've raised $53,220.75
The group rolled into San Francisco Wednesday night, and visited the Kiva offices today, meeting some of the staff and learning how we facilitate the loans they make through their Kiva account.
It was great to see such an inspiring group of young people, engaged in social issues, motivated to get involved and incredibly successful in the different programs which Global Agents of Change runs. They were an inspiration to the Kiva team, and really reminded us of the energy and enthusiasm that we all share in our mission to make a difference.
Congratulations to GAoC for making it to San Francisco, and having the strength of will to keep going on to Mexico!
