Tomasita's story

My personal background is intricately tied to my business, as my journey began with a childhood passion for sewing that blossomed into a career after studying fashion design at FIT in NY. For 17 years, through my studio, I honed my skills in making custom clothing and swimwear, which ultimately paved the way for the establishment of Sirena Patterns, the only Puerto Rican sewing pattern company and Academia Tommie Hernández, an in-person and online fashion school in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

My motivation and passion for my business stem from my deep-rooted love for sewing, which was ignited at a young age. The art of transforming fabric into beautiful garments captured my heart, and this passion has driven me to create Sirena Patterns. I find fulfillment in not only providing quality sewing patterns to enthusiasts but also empowering them through education and support to pursue their own entrepreneurial endeavors.
